Radikale Veränderung fangt mit der Arbeit an unseren Imaginären und Bildern der Zukunft an. Da die die Welt der (noch) herrschenden Autos grau, eintönig und gesundheitsschädlich ist, lädt dieser Workshop zur imaginativ-utopischen Erträumen einer besseren Welt der Mobilität ein. Wie sieht die Welt der CARS WE LIKE aus, in denen sich die Fahrzeuge der Umwelt, und nicht mehr die Umwelt den Fahrzeugen anpassen muss? In dem die automobile Normalität Menschen und andere Lebewesen nicht mehr an die Peripherie drängt, sondern durch lebensbejahende und plurale Mobilitätsformen ersetzt werden?
Selbstermächtigt mit Bleistift und Ölkreide erkunden wir in diesem offenen Atelier zusammen die kleinen und großen Problemfälle, Ärgernisse und Perspektiven auf verrückte und ganz konkrete Ansätze, wie wir uns spaßiger, effektiver und gesünder durch unsere Lebensräume bewegen können. Geleitet von Kathrin Kloeckl Stan, Rainer Prohaska und Kilian Jörg und als Teil des CARS WE LIKE-Projekts des Futurama.Labs möchten wir einen gemütlichen Raum schaffen, um aus Humor und Hirngespinsten gemeinsam die Welten der Zukunft zu bebildern.
Teile der gemeinsam erarbeiteten Werke können auf der Vienna Art Week mit dem Futurama.Lab und auf dem nächsten größeren Auftritt der CARS WE LIKE im Rahmen der Europäischen Kulturhauptstadt Chemnitz 2025 gezeigt und weiter entwickelt werden – bis unsere Städte und Dörfer dann endlich wie unsere wildesten Träume und Skizzen aussehen.

SKETCHING THE CARS WE LIKE is part of the multi-year project series THE CARS WE LIKE, an artistic initiative by the FUTURAMA°LAB.
Radical change starts with reshaping our imagination and vision of the future. In a world where the dominance of cars is still grey, monotonous, and harmful, this workshop invites participants to engage in imaginative, utopian dreaming of a better, more sustainable mobility landscape.
What does the world of THE CARS WE LIKE look like, where vehicles must adapt to the environment, instead of the environment being forced to adapt to vehicles? A world where automotive norms no longer push people and other living beings to the margins but are replaced by vibrant, life-affirming, and diverse forms of mobility?
Using a range of drawing techniques, we will address the small and large issues, frustrations, and absurdities of today’s mobility, while exploring tangible, playful, and healthy ways to move through our shared spaces. Led by Kathrin Kloeckl Stan, Kilian Jörg, and Rainer Prohaska, the workshop will create a relaxed atmosphere for using humor and imagination to envision future mobility together.

Präsentation des ZINES Wurmtreiben im Rahmen der OPEN STUDIOS 5 Semmelweisklinik, Hockegasse 37, Haus 4, 1180 Wien.
Lesung + Ausstellung von Kathrin Kloeckl Stan
mit einer Performance von Carola Fuchs
Wurmtreiben ist eine künstlerische Reflexion über das Nichts-Tun und ein Aufbegehren gegen den Zwang der Tätigkeit. Der treibende Wurm tritt als Heilsfigur auf um Möglichkeitsräume der Kontemplation in Zeiten künstlicher Geschäftigkeit und überbordender Kommunikation zu öffnen.
Die Reduktion unnützer Aktivität führt zu einem Ressourcen schonenderen und achtsameren Umgang mit unserer Umwelt und unseren Mitmenschen. So kann das Sich-Treiben-Lassen, wie es im Wurmtreiben fantasiert wird, auch auf sozio-ökologischer Ebene wirksam werden.

ZINE Launch Floating Worm

Floating Worm is an artistic reflection on doing nothing and a revolt against the compulsion to perform useless activity. The floating worm becomes a figure of salvation that opens up spaces of contemplation in times of artificial activity and excessive communication. The reduction of meaningless activity favors a respectful use of existing resources, a more mindful behaviour towards our fellow human beings and causes less damage to our environment. As such, the concept of the floating worm can also have an impact on a socio-ecological level.

when I‘m not drawing I linger professionally in public libraries. And last week I was again reminded why I love this job so much!
I paritcipated at the ZINE-MAKING WORKSHOP on COMMUNITY LIBRARIANSHIP in the framework of the international research project ILIT (Infrastructuring Libraries In Transformation, AUT/ NL/ SE).
